Employment opportunities

When recruiting new employees, the National Archives are guided by the equal treatment principle. Vacancies are filled in the process of internal or public employment application. Public employment application notices are found in the section of job offers, also in the public service system and CV-Online database.

The National Archives offer practical training placement for university students. We accept applications all year round. The practical training opportunities are dependent on the needs and possibilities of the institution. In order to apply, please send us your CV and request.

Volunteering at the archive

Volunteer work at the archive is a great opportunity to learn more about the activities of a large memory institution and broaden horizons, acquire skills and experiences in archival work and gain new professional contacts.

Volunteers can potentially assist in the following areas: organizing, describing, digitization prep and digitization of paper, photographic, film and audio media archive materials.

Volunteer work is possible in all units of the National Archives – in Tallinn, Tartu, Rakvere and Valga. The archive provides the necessary training. If necessary, a letter of reference can be provided for applying for a job.
