The National Archives’ buildings and reading rooms are closed, we work online

Dear visitors and users,

Since March 17, the National Archives’ buildings in Tallinn and Tartu are closed due to the emergency situation in Estonia caused by COVID-19 virus threat.

All of our digital services will be accessed as usual.

Also, we continue issuing archival notices but we ask everyone to consider a possible lengthening the term for answering. We’ll answer first to requests to certify the rights and duties of individuals. Concerning copying services, we also provide first orders linked to persons’ rights and duties. Other copying services have been postponed.

Additionally, we continue to provide photo copying services in cases the ordered photo has been digitised. Copying of films and sound recordings have been postponed.

As soon as we have any information to restore our working practices, it will be informed.
