Content DescriptionWaching paint dry- some of the Estonian Ethnographic Society members, pictures here, are doing precisely that. From the left, Kati Marley, Aino Raun, Kaarina Gentle, Liis Teedla, Ellen Leivat, Saime Vesi, Reet Triefeldt and Maaja Matsoo are indeed waiting for the paint to dry on the striped panels of their current project. Beautiful stripes of Estonian folk costumes are everywhere to be seen in Estonia and EERK (Eesti Etnograafia Ring Kanadas) is going to make sure some of these stripes will be evident in Canada too, specifically in beautiful Prince Edward County. But winter will soon arrive, so EERK must postpone its project completion because it requires warm, dry weather and a field trip for the EERK to Niidiptsa farm on the shores of Lake Ontario. As soon as the last stripes have been painted, there will undoubtedly be a hot sauna and a refreshing dip in Lake Ontario. Then, the colourful resuit will be unveiled and subsequently photographed for all to see.
