| Content Description | The annual NATO exercise, Sabre Strike, tests the capabilities and readiness of NATO's military units that have been or will be deployed in case of a quick defensive response to an assault against Baltic States is needed. Russian authorities have always claimed that this type of training proves that the West is constantly planning for an offensive against Russia. However, the very nature of the equipment used, the tactics employed etc., confirm that NATO has a distinctly defensive mission in mind when organizing and conducting such maneuvers.
