| Content Description | "This is the land we are singing about." That's what the host of last Sunday's musical event in Tartu College was saying. The concert-workshop, "Eesti laulud" - Estonia's songs - was dedicated to Vaba Eesti (Free Estonia) and its song-makers, kicking off in a musical way who could be called Estonia's year. Only Estonian composers were included in the programme, but together by Andres Raudsepp echoing sing-alongs and pop-concerts with youthful singers which he staged 30-40 years ago for Metro Toronto Caravan's Estonian Pavilion and Estonian World Festivals. The colourful map, produced by Estonians in Sweden in 1972 and promoted by Estonian schools in Toronto, received a positive reception by many in the audience who raised hands indicating ownership. |
