| Content Description | The 127th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly was held in Quebec City from 21st to 26th October, with 670 members of parliament and parliamentary speakers among the delegates. The IPU, headquartered in Geneva, with membership consisting of over 150 national parliaments, was established in 1889 and is the focal point for worldwide parliamentary dialog for the establishment of representative democracy. The theme of this year's IPU Assembly was "Citizenship, Identity and Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in a Globalised World". Four delegates from Estonia, from left, Erki Nool, Tõnis Kõiv, Riina Otsep, Jaan Ounapuu, met the only Quebec City residents of Estonian citizenship, Valdur Pille, and his wife Nelly Audet. |
