| Sisuline kirjeldus | Markham mayor Frank Scarpitti honouring Evelyn Koop for her long-standing, successful efforts in promoting rhythmic gymnastics not only to Canada but also to the world. Kalev Estienne, nursed by Evelyn Koop to its current prominent position was similarly honoured. At the official ceremony for the occasion, a video was screened depicting Evelyn and her club's achievements over the years. Known as the "godmother" of rhythmic gymnastics, Evelyn has trained some 1000 teachers and trainers in the sport. Kalev Estienne members have performed and competed all over the world. Evelyn has been active as a judge in competitions for over 40 years and has also been the founder of many competitions internationally. |
