Since it was established in 1960, "Candlemas," as it is known in Europe, is amongst other traditions taken as a holiday for women. On this day women put aside their daily chores, they join to imbibe, eat and celebrate together. For the past 15 years the event has been gathering momentum in Toronto, is well-attended, lively and meaningful for women in age from 19-91. |
