{"id":1915,"date":"2016-12-20T14:25:19","date_gmt":"2016-12-20T14:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ra.ee\/en\/?page_id=1915"},"modified":"2021-11-22T11:19:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T09:19:23","slug":"e-ark","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ra.ee\/en\/projects-and-cooperation\/e-ark\/","title":{"rendered":"E-ARK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In February 2014, the National Archives started its participation in the joint project of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eark-project.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>E-ARK<\/strong><\/a> (European Archival Records and Knowledge Preservation), funded by the European Commission and addressed to the problem of archiving digital data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">E-ARK will benefit public administrations, public agencies, public services, citizens and business by providing easy and efficient access to the archived records.\u00a0The project will examine current best practices to create a pilot archiving service to keep records authentic and usable. It will address the three main endeavours of an archive \u2013 acquiring, preserving and enabling re-use of information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project of E-ARK will spend three years creating a standard archival process at a pan-European level supported by guidelines and recommended practices that will cater for a range of data from different types of source including record management systems and databases.
